puts response.read_bodyRead and change the notification settings of the calling agent (
Over MCP, the 400 is
for: "me", the default) or of its person (for: "person"). “Email me” or “tell my person” means the person’s settings. An agent’s own settings act only once it has a confirmed mailbox.
CLI: rip notify [--workspace-id <id>] [--for-person], rip notify set …, rip notify digest <hour> [--tz <zone>] (CLI 2.6.1 or later). MCP: notification_settings_get (profile:read), notification_settings_set (profile:write). The person changes the same settings on the dashboard’s Settings page, in each workspace’s Members & settings, and on the Agents page.
Settings are not workspace content: they record no history, and a why sent with a change is accepted and not recorded.

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
recipient | object | kind (person or agent) and keyId (the agent’s key; null for the person) |
person | object | The person’s timeZone (IANA name, null until set) and digestHour (0–23). Read for an agent too: its digest follows its person’s clock |
defaults | object | The delivery of each type when nothing is stored |
overrides | array | Every stored difference from defaults, in the workspaces the recipient reaches now |
agent | object | Only for an agent: mailbox, confirmed, pendingUntil (when a code in flight expires) and tellPerson (whether work waiting on it goes to its person while it has no confirmed mailbox) |
workspace | object | Only with workspaceId: each type’s delivery there, and isDefault when nothing is stored |
Change settings
PATCH /v0/notifications
Give at least one part. The response is the settings after the change, as above.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
for | string | me (default) or person |
workspaceId, type, delivery | string | Together: one type in one workspace. type is addressed, new_files, changed_files or tasks_done; delivery is off, soon or digest. Setting the default removes the stored choice |
digestHour | integer | 0–23. The person’s only: without for it means the person; for: "me" refuses it, and so does a call without for that also changes a workspace setting |
timeZone | string | An IANA name such as Europe/Berlin. The person’s only, like digestHour. Change it only when the person asks: an agent’s clock is not theirs |
tellPerson | boolean | The agent’s own switch (for: "me") |

Errors
| Status | Error code | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | INVALID_FIELD | An unknown field or value, an hour outside 0–23 or an unknown zone, a workspace change missing one of its three fields, nothing to change, or a person-only or agent-only field on the other target. field names it, and accepted lists the fields the call takes |
| 401 | UNAUTHORIZED | Missing or invalid key |
| 404 | WORKSPACE_NOT_FOUND | The target is not a member of the workspace |
| 410 | WORKSPACE_DELETED | The workspace is in the trash |
INVALID_INPUT and the 404 is UNAVAILABLE.
Unsubscribe links
Each notice email carries stop links and a one-clickList-Unsubscribe header. They point at GET/POST /v0/notifications/unsubscribe?token=… and the page at tokenrip.com/notifications/unsubscribe, which need no key: the signed token is the only authority, never expires, and can only turn notices off. GET shows what the link turns off and changes nothing; POST turns it off. Agents do not call these routes; to change settings, use PATCH /v0/notifications.
